Tom Spacek – Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist BSc (Hons) Psych, MSc, MSc (CBT), PG Dip, Mindfulness TTR1, BABCP Accredited
I am a fully trained and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with specialised graduate and post graduate training, completing my MSc in CBT at the University of London in 2008. My experience spans over 20 years working across a range of mental healthcare settings. These include varied roles within the NHS, as well as private healthcare settings such as The Priory Hospital (Roehampton). I am a highly experienced therapist providing individual treatment, groups and workshops. I have also completed supervision training, which enables me to provide clinical supervision to fellow practitioners.
I pride myself in offering a bespoke service providing evidence-based therapy for depression, PTSD, stress, low self-esteem and a range of anxiety disorders (such as panic disorder, OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder and phobias).
I have a special interest in applying mindfulness based and compassion-focused treatment across a range of psychological disorders.
As a person, I am friendly and approachable in nature. I am both compassionate and patient in how I work. It is very important to me that we work together to establish an excellent and safe working therapeutic relationship.
I am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), who represent the gold standard in CBT treatment in the UK. Being accredited as a therapist with the BABCP demonstrates that I hold the necessary qualifications and have the required clinical experience to practice high quality CBT. I provide therapy in a manner consistent with the NICE guidelines for psychological problems and the evidence base as suggested by the plethora of robust research studies completed in this field.
